Resettle & Rebuild
We help support individuals, families and domestic violence victims who are homeless and who are placed in emergency/temporary accommodation that is located close to the community centre.
What we do ..
By working in collaboration with the local authority, other agencies, local businesses, charities, and churches. Together, we help support a homeless person. NPLCC believes that every person deserves to rebuild their lives and provide hope to allow homeless people to do so.
What it Means..
In the UK, homelessness is legally defined by the Housing Act 1996 and extends beyond just sleeping rough to include being unable to occupy any home, even if a person is provided temporary/emergency accommodation. This also covers people in situations like living in a hostel, sofa-surfing, being at risk of domestic violence, or facing eviction, and also includes those with no legal right to occupy their home, who cannot access it, or who live in a mobile structure.
Our Goals & Service
Our Goal: To help support individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness, including victims of domestic violence, in welcoming, safe, and basic-equipped homes, including basic soft furnishings.
Service provided: work in partnership with the housing officers for the East Yorkshire Council to help with the case to help restore them into the community with hope and build dignity, and connection. We feel that by providing this and ongoing support services (voluntary work, benefit forms assistance, mental health support and financial advice) this gives a helping hand in the right direction for somebody to get back on their feet and build their lives after experiencing a tough situation.
Needs for each crisis case: Provision of basic soft furnishings and household essentials to create a dignified, comfortable, clean-living space from day one. In time, when the person/s are resettled, we will then work with the individual to consider their next steps in looking for work, possibly returning to some form of training or education, or help create a volunteer role to provide work experience.
Our help will be introduced in 4 stages ..

stag 1 - Assess
This is where we assess where we can help and place a plan together of what is needed.

Stage 2- Plan
This is where we contact all our agency, local business, churches, other charity partners and share what is needed.

Stage 3- Resettle
Now we have a plan and the collaborative partners included, we start to resettle the homeless person in their temp home.

Stage 4 - Rebuild
This stage is where we work on rebuilding a person's life. Through work experience, training and socialising
“Helping one person might not change the whole world, but it will change the world for that one person”.
